Global Football Club was established in March 2000 when a group of individuals formed a weekly football kick-about as a leisure activity. The group, which was mostly composed of football enthusiasts from Tacloban, held their first games at the back of the Quezon City Hall. They later moved to continue their weekly games in the University of the Philippines Sunken Garden football field. The group started participating in different tournaments in Manila using the name “Laos FC” – with ‘laos’ referring to ‘has beens’.
After hiring football players as employees of Autre Porte Technique Global, Inc, the club name of ‘Global Football Club’ was adopted in 2009. Global FC joined the United Football League 2nd Divison in the same year. They won the 2nd Division to gain promotion to the 2010 United Football League 1st Division.
Following the promotion to the 1st Division, Global continued its winning ways by winning the 2nd edition of the UFL Cup, giving Global its second UFL title at the expense of then defending champions Philippine Air Force.
In their first foray in the 1st Division, Global settled for 2nd place behind Air Force, but despite failing to win the title in their first season at the top, the club also reached a feat, finishing the season unbeaten.
That run continued to the PFF-Smart National Championships representing the National Capital Region, where they won the title after beating Smart San Beda FC in the final.
Returning to the 2011 UFL Cup as defending champions, Global had to endure the Group of Death, advancing to the next round as the one of the third placed team in the competition, and finishing third after falling to eventual champions Air Force in the semifinals.
The league season of 2012 was the season that Global had been waiting for after they finally won the coveted 1st Division title on the last day of the season, edging Kaya on goal difference.
Aside from the UFL and the PFF-Smart Championships, Global has also participated in several tournaments like the Alaska Cup, Kia Cup and Ang Liga.
